Closets For Less designs and installs custom closets across Bucks County, PA, from Levittown and Bensalem to Doylestown, New Hope and Perkasie. We are a locally owned company based in Warminster since 2007. Every system starts with a free in-home design consultation, is drawn for your exact space and is installed by our own team.
A Bucks County closet company, based in Warminster
Our office is at 663 Mary Street in Warminster, in the middle of the county’s southern half. That puts Southampton, Warrington, Ivyland and Hatboro next door, Doylestown and Newtown a short drive north and east, and the river towns from Yardley to New Hope within the same service area. Your closet is measured in your home, designed for that space and installed by our own team.
That matters because Bucks County housing is not one kind of house. A closet plan that works in a 2000s colonial in Jamison will not fit a 1950s ranch in Levittown or a stone farmhouse outside Doylestown. We plan around the house you actually have.
Custom closets across Lower, Central and Upper Bucks
Lower Bucks: postwar homes with small original closets
Lower Bucks grew fast after World War II. Levittown’s custom closet needs start with houses built in the 1950s with compact bedroom closets, and much of Bensalem, Feasterville-Trevose and Langhorne followed with ranches, split-levels, Cape Cods and twins. These homes rarely have spare square footage, so the job is getting more out of the closets that are already there: double hanging, shelving to the ceiling and drawers that replace a dresser.
Central Bucks: historic boroughs and larger family homes
Central Bucks is a mix. Doylestown, the county seat, has a borough of older homes surrounded by townships full of newer colonials. Our Doylestown closet design page covers both. Newtown is similar, with a historic borough and decades of subdivisions around it in Newtown Township; see custom closets in Newtown. Warrington, Jamison, Chalfont, Buckingham and Richboro are mostly family homes from the 1970s on, with walk-in closets, mudroom entries and two-car garages that are worth planning properly.
The river towns and Upper Bucks
Along the Delaware, Yardley, Washington Crossing and New Hope have historic homes with shallow or irregular closets, sloped ceilings and rooms that were never built with a closet at all. Our New Hope custom closets page covers that kind of house. Further north and west, Perkasie and the Pennridge area combine older borough homes with newer construction.
What different Bucks County homes need from a closet system
| Home type you see in Bucks County | Common storage problem | Suggested design |
|---|---|---|
| 1950s ranch or Levittown-era house | Small reach-in closets, few bedrooms, no spare room | Reach-ins with double hanging, shelving to the ceiling, built-in drawers |
| Split-level or Cape Cod, 1950s to 1970s | Short closets, knee walls, sloped ceilings | Shelving shaped to the slope, low hanging, wardrobe units |
| Historic borough home or stone farmhouse | Shallow closets, few closets at all | Freestanding wardrobe closets, built-ins, reworked reach-ins |
| 1980s to 2000s colonial | Walk-in with one rod and wire shelving | Full walk-in system, island or drawer tower, shoe shelving |
| Newer construction in Central or Upper Bucks | Builder-grade wire shelving everywhere | Walk-ins, pantry, mudroom lockers, laundry and garage storage |

What goes into every system
Every closet we install is custom designed for the space, not picked from a set of standard widths. Materials and options include:
- 3/4 inch furniture-grade boards
- Adjustable shelving, so the layout can change as your wardrobe does
- Soft-close drawers
- Many finishes and hardware options to suit the room and the rest of the house
Before anything is built, you see the design and can ask for changes. After you approve it, our own installers put it in.
What a custom closet costs in Bucks County
There is no single price because no two closets are the same size or layout. The main factors are the length of wall being fitted, the number of drawers, the finish, and extras like an island or shoe shelving. A reach-in in a Levittown bedroom and a walk-in in a newer Newtown Township colonial are very different projects. Our custom closet cost guide walks through what drives the price, and the consultation and written estimate are free.
Custom closet system or a store-bought kit?
Kits from a big-box store are sold in fixed widths and depths. That works on a new, square closet, but much of Bucks County’s housing is older than the kits are designed for: walls are out of plumb, closets are shallow, ceilings slope. The gaps a kit leaves are wasted space, and the particleboard and wire it is made from tend to sag under a full load. A custom system is measured and cut for one wall, uses thicker 3/4 inch boards, and is installed by people who do it every day. A kit costs less up front; a custom closet is built to fit and to stay.
How to get ready for your design consultation
You do not need to empty the closet or have a plan. It helps to think through a few things before the designer arrives:
- What you store in the closet now, and what lives elsewhere because it does not fit
- How much long hanging you need for dresses, coats and suits
- Whether you want drawers in the closet so a dresser can leave the bedroom
- Shoe count, and whether shoes should be on shelves or out of sight
- Any other spaces you want looked at in the same visit: pantry, mudroom, laundry or garage
We will measure, take notes and talk through options with you. The design and estimate follow, and you can ask for revisions before anything is ordered.
